Diane McDermott, CNA, is being recognized as a Health Care Hero by the Suffolk County Legislator. A dedicated caregiver, Diane has been a valued member of East Neck Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 37 years.
She has been married for 44 years, is a proud mother of two West Babylon High School graduates, and a grandmother of two.
“My kids basically grew up at East Neck,” Diane shared. “I love my residents and I love what I do for them. When I go on vacation and come back, it warms my heart to hear, ‘I missed you.’”
Reflecting on the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Diane added, “It was so hard on our families because they weren’t allowed to visit for a period of time. We would bring our residents to the windows so they could visit through the glass. Working at East Neck with our team has been a blessing.”
